Can’t live without you…

What are the things in NYC that you hate to live without?
here’s my top 10 list:

Fresh Direct
Loehmann’s
Theater Mania Gold Club
BBQ Grill Early Bird Special
PMT dance studio
Au Bon Pain Bake Sale
Saint Alp’s near my place
Angelika
the Duane Reade at my corner
guestlists and open bars :P
seems like all ten items has to do with value and/or convenience.

importance of breakfast (Quote of the Week)

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

“‘When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,’
said Piglet at last, ‘what’s the first thing you
say to yourself?’ ‘What’s for breakfast?’ said Pooh.
‘What do you say, Piglet?’ ‘I say, I wonder what’s
going to happen exciting today?’ said Piglet. Pooh
nodded thoughtfully. ‘It’s the same thing,’ he said.”

just an off topic thought…
do u feel u are a much nicer person when u are in a relationship?
or the other way around?
i feel when i was in a relationship, i was more lovable, more capable of giving, and more patient…
now i’m just old, poor, bitter, and annoyed by so many things in life… :P
maybe it’s true that when u have love, the world becomes beautiful.

man i sound like those rediculous & hopeless romantics…. help help….

buy or rent???

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

Last night i went to my dance class (so much fun. a bit hard for me but i learn better under pressure :P) and then stayed home read some books about buying a co-op/condo etc. ppl always tell me it’s not worth it to pay such high rent in manhattan for years… why not put a down payment, pay your mortgage (for 30 years?), and have your own place? i gotta start evaluating that and begin to get familiar with the whole process…. seems so much work :P
so after a brief reading last night, i know that i need to do the following:

get a credite score
do market research
get a mortgage broker
pre-approved for mortgage
get a attorney
get a real estate agent
find THE apartment
get inspector & engineers’ report
negoitiate & co-op approving process

man… can it sound more complicated? :P any experts around? please give me some insightful suggestion >_< i feel clueless now….

The Debate at Lolita Bar

Monday, September 12th, 2005

There’re so many underground scenes in NYC.. underground poetry reading, underground break dance battle, underground foot fetish club….. that’s why i love this city. you can always find things you are interested in.

last week jimmy, virginia, and I went explore the Zinx monthly debate scene in lower east side manhattan. Despite the poor location (far away bar, loud air con, steamy basement), it was no doubt an interesting experience. the debate topic was “Are big chain stores hurting NYC”. it wasn’t a good game because one girl was so weak she couldn’t make any strong arguments…. tho, the audiences were hilarious. at one point i couldn’t stop laughing (i know.. it’s rude… but i couldn’t help >__<) all in all, it was fun and i want to go back again!!!

Underground buddies wanted: ppl who can stand lousy conditions and enjoy exploring different but sometimes boring things.

next stop i want to go see underground break dance battle, and also attend the next debate about “New York and New Jersey, which is better?” XD

my new cell phone

Monday, September 12th, 2005

got a new cell phone ^0^
the more i play with it, the more i like it kekeke.
it’s not those hottest phone with some 3.0 magepixel camera and SD card slots,
but for me, the new samsung, with mp3 players and 1.5 cam, is already a huge jump.
what amazed me is that the strap that came with the cell phone is in leather :P
one bad thing about my lovely new cell is that… it’s black…
girls… u know how hard it is when u put a black cased lipstick in a huge shoulder bag… it dissapears on you! hard to find ah…. but i’m not complaining~ i still love my new cell. kekeke.

oh btw i put some new pix on my yahoo photo album. go check it out.
