Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Promo06flyerhaha so i just found out that i’m in this party flyer made by my dance studio XD

if you look carefully, i’m in the down right corner pic… in a very awkward about-to-land position -___-||

AND if you look even MORE carefully, i’m also in the upper right picture…well sort of. I’m totally blocked by the guy on the chair (that’s our instructor btw), but you can see my upper body and one leg. XD

good enough… good enough…. can’t complain you know.. after all i’m just one of the many background dancers ;)

A new season has started! friends in NYC, come see me dance! :) next dance show will be the weekend before thanksgiving break (11/17-11/19. actual date/ time TBA). This time, i’ll be doing a very… not Jenny piece :P meaning… it’ll be different than what i did before– M. Jackson, Missy, Usher…etc. this time it’s more girly and sexier ;) u’ll see…

GMAT practice tests

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

It has been almost 2 months since I took my GMAT exam. (Wow 2 months already? I think I extended my post-GMAT relaxing period for a bit too long….)

Several friends have been asking me about my GMAT experience. Questions I got the most are about my practice exam scores, and how well did those scores predict my actual test result. From this, I thought, maybe the biggest challenge of GMAT is not really mastering the material, but dealing with the anxiety.

Practice tests are scary.
If u score lower than your goal, u’ll probably think you are screwed.
If u score high, u’ll probably doubt the accuracy of the test and start questioning your high performance.

I am going to share my scores here…. they do not represent anything, just that I don’t have to answer it so many times to different people :P:P (and to people who ask me multiple times! Yes Mr. Pu I’m talking about you!) Also show that it’s ok to go up and down on scores. Oh and don’t believe too much in Kaplan… they just want you to feel under-prepared and then spend MORE on their study aid products/services. So don’t worry too much just do your best!! (ha easy said then done right? i know… i know…)

Here are my scores, in chronological orders:

GMATPrep I: 650
GMATPrep II: 760
Kaplan I: 630
Kaplan II: 660
GMATPrep III: 760

GMAT: 720

Also, you can use this GMAT score estimator to get more idea on where you stand. good luck friends!

Bullshit Bingo

*from a forward email i got from Betty*

Do you keep falling asleep in meetings and seminars? What about those long and boring conference calls? Here’s away to change all of that.

1. Before (or during) your next meeting, seminar, or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square. (I find that 5" x 5" is a good size.)

2. Divide the square into columns - five across and five down That will give you 25 one-inch blocks.

3. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block:

* synergy                  * strategic fit
* core competencies  * best practice
* bottom line            * revisit
* expeditious            * to tell you the truth (or "the truth is")
* 24/7                      * out of the loop
* benchmark             * value-added
* pro-active               * win-win
* think outside the box * fast track
* result-driven           * empower (or empowerment)
* knowledge based     * at the end of the day
* touch base              * mind-set
* client focused          * paradigm
* game plan               * leverage

4. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases.

5. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout "BULLSHIT!"**

Testimonials from satisfied "Bullshit Bingo" players:
